Stuff for Teachers

A Note to Teachers from
 Planet Mitch
 Author, Susan Lower

There are countless distractions out there to keep our kids from reading, and sometimes our young readers struggle to keep up with the words they're learning in school. Like my oldest daughter, there are many children who struggle with reading, so instead of persisting on becoming better, they turn on the television, become engrossed in wii and ds games, or stare at a computer screen.

We've brought our children into an evolving digital age, and thus we must adapt in order to help our children hold tight to the exitement and curiosity that reading brings within the very pages of a book.

In order to encourage my own child to persist upon this adventure in learning to become more profiecent in reading and meet reading level standards at school, Planet Mitch evolved.

Each Planet Mitch adventure introduces children to a new constellation in a humorous sort of way. Buth, the rocket hasn't left the launch pad yet, so relax while the final preparations are taking place to bring the first book into print.

In the meantime, however, I want encourage you to come back and stop in often. I will be posting and adding free printables of discussion questions, trivia, math problems, connect the dot, and other fun puzzles for you and your students.
